The cold that will never die.

November 30th, 2004

I have it.

What the hell? I’ve had this freaking cold for almost two weeks now. Yesterday I was rejoicing because I was relatively snot-free all day. I didn’t have to take any medicine, and the nose blowing was minimal. I saw the light at the end of the tunnel I made out of empty Kleenex boxes.

Today I woke up just as snurfy (to use an Arlo term) as I was a week ago. I’m a human snot factory. There is an endless supply. If it wasn’t so irritating it would almost be impressive.

Argh.

  1. how much snot can the human body produce in a day? where is it produced and the more you expel does the more you make? it’s endless…if it could be converted to useable protein substance….

  2. I have a miserable cold also. It started by just losing my voice with no other cold symptoms. Then came the snot. Snot, snot and more snot. I have been blowing my nose for three weeks. And when I’m not blowing my nose, I’m strangling on that horrible tickle in my throat that makes me cough until it sounds like I’m going to puke. It’s terribly embarrassing. I don’t know why I felt the need to search the web for posts such as these, except that I was also curious about how much snot the body can produce, and where does it come from? And why does it keep on coming even after I have blown as much as I can possibly blow?!!!
thanks for letting me share…sorry. :-|
